The Visit
A brother and sister are sent to their grandparents' remote Pennsylvania farm for a week, where they discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing.
Horror is central to the viewing experience: fear, dread and disturbing behavior from the elderly grandparents drive the film's mood and purpose. While there are comedic moments and a found-footage veneer, removing horror would undermine the movie's core identity.
Best for viewers looking for a scary, atmosphere-heavy, psychological, slow-burning and low-gore horror movie.
