The restoration uses the original camera negative for a 2160p Ultra HD transfer. The look of the film’s practical effects remains intact, with KNB EFX Group and Screaming Mad George involved in the restoration. The higher resolution reveals some inconsistencies in the effects work, but the overall presentation is a clearer rendering of the gore and creature work.
Audio details
The release includes a 5.1 DTS Master Audio mix and a remastered LPCM 2.0 track. The score by Richard Band remains a distinctive sonic element of Bride of Re-Animator.
New material and legacy features
The 4K UHD set includes new content alongside legacy features. A 60-minute documentary, Till Death Do Us Part: Making Bride of Re-Animator, provides production insights beyond the archive material. There are extended interviews with Brian Yuzna and cast members, and a new audio commentary by Sarah Sherman of Saturday Night Live.
Alongside the new material, the package includes hours of legacy features—featurettes, deleted scenes, and multiple audio commentaries—along with the HD restoration of the censored theatrical cut. The Deluxe and Ultimate editions include a 120-page hardcover book with an introduction by Yuzna and essays exploring Bride of Re-Animator from multiple angles. The book is not offered separately; Deluxe and Ultimate editions thus offer a more substantial collector’s package.
